In conjunction with the Marintec 2025 exhibition, Mordec conducted the MORDEC SEMINAR 2025 @SHANGHAI at SNIEC, Shanghai, China.

The key topic of the seminar was on SUSTAINABLE MAINTENANCE (PMS) for IMO COMPLIANCE.

This seminar brought together professionals from the maritime community, including representatives from Classification Societies, Shipowners, Operators, and Regulatory Bodies, to discuss and explore the latest advancements and challenges in the launch of the New SOLAS Regulation (SOLAS II-1/3-13) – Effective 1 January 2026.

To support compliance with these new SOLAS requirements, Mordec has our Mordec Testing & Certification-Global Service Stations and our trained MTC Inspectors at each port of call, to assist vessels by providing testing, thorough examinations, load tests, and the issuance of the required documentation including the Certificates of Test and Thorough Examination.

The seminar was also the stage where Mordec signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with 7 Global Partners, to establish strategic partnerships for Global Service Stations in their respective territories, for the Inspection and Maintenance of Vessels Mooring and Lifting equipment.

These territories include China, Panama, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, United Arab Emirates, the Philippines and Chinese Taipei.

This collaboration aims to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency across the maritime industry by providing comprehensive, standardized Inspection and Maintenance services for mooring and lifting equipment at service stations worldwide.

The MOA outlines a framework for the parties to:

  1. Develop unified Inspection Protocols that align with International Regulations, including the latest IMO and SOLAS requirements for safe mooring operations.
  2. Establish a global network of Certified Inspectors and Service Stations capable of conducting consistent, high-quality inspections.
  3. Leverage advanced Digital Platforms (MTC-Ship2Safe-ATT App) for real-time data sharing and reporting, ensuring transparency and efficient record-keeping for vessel owners and operators.
  4. Provide Integrated Service Offerings that combine MTC's specific expertise, of equipment manufacturing, lifting & mooring solutions with each of the 7 Global Partners' specific expertise of global logistics, inspection services etc.

"We are thrilled to partner with the 7 companies on this critical initiative," said Louis Aw, Executive Director at Mordec Testing & Certification. "Ensuring the integrity of mooring and lifting equipment is paramount to safety at sea. This MOA strengthens our commitment to providing world-class support and helps our clients meet stringent regulatory requirements globally".

The partnership reflects a mutual commitment to proactive maintenance and risk mitigation in an increasingly complex maritime environment.
